RutgersSWE’s graduate chapter and Prof. Johanna Bernstein brought engineering to elementary-aged girls at Bartle Elementary on Girl Day.

We asked the students to draw a scientist or an engineer. Check the drawings below with crazy hair and beakers! Our first experiment was the SpaceX inspired touch down design challenge. Our young scientists designed shock absorbers for spacecrafts to help marshmallow astronauts land safely. Our second experiment was Clean It Up, where the students designed water filters to remove contaminations.
